Even though it was a little short, this was a well-made animation and a respectable tribute to Pico. Not quite sure how the convict managed to build up power to escape, but that's okay. The animation was smooth, with the minor exception of the convict's feet in the walk cycle. Not bad, but could have been a little smoother.
The sound effects were great, as well as the expressions on the character's faces. Overall, a very good flash - keep up the great work.
Author's Response:
Because the convict have the ability of tranformation in others characters, and a lot of characters can scape from a jail :D, just, i intented of hide the walk cycle with the blur filter :D, only 2 keys frames

This was fun to play with for a while. The graphics were good, but could have used a little more animation. The street crossing should be a little more towards the center of the screen, because anything that comes from the top of the screen shows up too fast to react to. The mouse-follow control is good, but sometimes I got ahead of myself, and couldn't stop in time for the oncoming traffic. The sound effects were decent as well.
Overall, a cute game that will make you chuckle - and teach us all an important lesson - look both ways before crossing!

You did a nice job in creating something humorous about something so unusual as a fish parasite. Your artwork was good, especially during the close-up face views. The ongoing monologue from the CE sounded like Brooklyn truck driver - dry humor without caring about the response. Not too much in the way of sound-effects (a few here and there) but the voice track was good. Probably could use a little bit more interactive dialogue, but that didn't detract from the humor.
In addition to all of this, you also managed to sneak in some facts about the parasite, making the learning experience fun. It was a little off-beat, but as flashes go, very well made. Keep up the good work!

The concept was funny - how many different ways can you attack a wall and try to break through, and fail - and the ending was cute, too. The references to all of the video games and anime cartoons made it funnier. The sound effects and background music definitely helped.
But the graphics were simple and kind of flat - a little more detail to the animation and a wider range of colors would have helped out.
Overall, a fun animation that shows you're on the right track. Good job.

"Another Classic from Lemon Demon"
The original song is funny and fits the flash perfectly. Somewhat reminiscent of the tune for "Ultimate Showdown", it tells a story of the narrator's views of an outdoor marketplace - with all the disgusting (and funny) details that abound.
In reality, most outdoor markets are pretty much as he describes here. The graphics and images are simple and cartoonish, yet they seem to fit just right with the narrative. There are no sound effects - just the background song track. But sometimes, that's all you need.
Another great job - well done! 5/5, 10/10 Keep up the good work!

"Cute - Nicely done for an 8-bit rehash"
You can see that there was a lot of effort put into this flash to recreate the action, motion and feeling of the original Link game. Even though this wasn't a game itself, it was still fun to watch. The humor was subtle (when Link confronted the red centaur, and he moved so slow, but threatened to bash Link's skull in - or the famous "Oh, Shit" moment towards the end). There could have been more humor in it - sometimes it seemed that all it showed was movement from room to room. But again, in the real game, it was pretty much the same thing.
The text moved at a good speed for me - I hate having to click or press enter to continue dialogue. However, some people who read slow might not be able to read it all. It's a tough call - find the right text speed, or make the user manually advance to the next dialogue.
The background sounds and sound effects were good, and true to the genre. It was a decent remake, but if you want to make it stand out from the crowd, might I suggest a little more humor, or references to recent events, or even references and random humor from other genres - something that would make it unique to you, so people would see it and say "Hey, Corky really knows how to make funny sprite flashes like no one else!"
Overall, a very good job. Much better than what I can do at this point.
Side note: Now I see where you got the animated gif for your Barracks icon LOL!
Author's Response:
Eight? I really don't think it's deserving of a score that high, but I'm never going to complain. :P
I've personally never played the games before, but had the basic background knowledge to know what should be going on.
The whole text thing was a big deal. I don't know how to do the actionscript so it was going to have to be by itself. I actually had the text there longer, but people that previewed it said it was too slow so I made it a bit faster. I guess now it's right around the average speed for people. I'm hoping that not too many people find it too fast though.
The red centaur was going to be in a big joke towards the end to try and make the submission funnier, but I never got to finishing it. I'm guessing I'm going to finish this sometime, but with college I'm really busy. I also have another flash quarter of the way finished and I want to finish that too. That one is so much better. Might actually win something. That one has much more action and sound effects.
If I continue this series, which I really do want to, it will be mainly humor.

As with most of IllWillPress's flashes, this one was entertaining and opinionated. Most of the animation was Foamy flailing around during his rant, and then the occasional scene-shift to help illustrate what he was talking about.
The only sound is Foamy speaking in the falsetto voice we've become used to hearing - and occasionally, it's too fast to fully understand. But that doesn't take away from the humor and message.
The flash is well made, as well as the message about self-serving achievements. Anyone who's played online or anything on an XBOX knows exactly what he's talking about.
Overall, nicely done and a good addition to the series.

The flash was a simple parody and a complete synopsis of the movie. While it really was nothing more than a slideshow with background music and a voice-over, it was entertaining as it poked fun at the original movie by showing all of the ridiculous concept changes about vampires.
Had there been more animation, I would have scored it higher. The voice acting was fair, but since you were aiming for parody, it would make sense that the voices themselves would be funny and/or different.
It was long, and funny in spots - especially when Bella kept arguing about how "real vampires" should be. I can see you did put some effort into gathering and organizing the images, as well as scripting the narrative and the voice parts.
Maybe a little shorter next time, and toss in some animation. But you're definitely on the right track!

Hi, Corky,
Sorry, I'm not a big fan of the all-live video as a flash - just my opinion, though. Had there been rotoscoping or additional flash animation along with the live action, well, that's generally more interesting to watch.
The movie does have a plot line, and the sound track is dramatic and appropriate. However, the video quality is poor, and in many cases, overexposed to almost all-white conditions.
The acting is stiff, like a school play. The characters need to loosen up a bit. There was a little humor ("Do you know what day it is?" - "uh, June 5th?" - but there's snow everywhere) that helps, but sometimes too much humor can offset the drama you're trying to create.
It seems that you have all the raw materials you need - you just have to hone it down and refine it a bit. And maybe throw in some simple rotoscope animation (like when he shoots the gun, a lazer beam comes from it - or when someone gets shot, some blood effects)
But you're on the right track. Clean it up, and try it again! Hope this helps...
Author's Response:
You didn't like the acting? We've won awards for best acting before. :( I thought we were just a tad bit better than what you said.
I understand the whole opinion on movies and everything on newgrounds. That's perfectly fine. The original file is over 50 MB and this was the next step down so that's the best the quality is going to get.
Sadly, there is lasers when he shoots the guns. :( Pay closer attention and you will see them. (There was some flash mixed with the animation then)
Blood might be added in future submissions though. I never thought about that.
Thanks for the review.

A short flash playing on the phrase "bloom where you're planted" - after it shows a skateboarder doing a face-plant (see the pun?) in the ground - and then, to add insult to injury, have his board fall into his butt! The sounds were funny, but the animation needed a little work, and the drawing itself was pixellated and low-res.
It was humorous, and with some refinement, would have gotten a higher score.
By the way, it's not a good idea to ask people to vote "5" - That can get your flash deleted - you should just ask us to vote fairly.
Author's Response:
Thanks for the tips n stuff, but how to I make it look less pixelated?
